Confidence isn’t luck — it’s the by-product of clear messaging, consistent action, and smart storytelling.
When I first started growing my real estate marketing agency, I thought confidence came from doing more.
More clients. More content. More hustle.
But what I didn’t realize was that I was chasing the next shiny idea instead of building from intention. And because of that, my audience was confused about who I was and what I did, and honestly, it was my own fault because I didn’t believe in myself or the skills I had acquired.
I told myself success meant hitting certain milestones: bigger contracts, bigger numbers, bigger presence. It didn’t matter that I was the first in my family to earn two bachelor’s degrees, build my own business, and travel the world — I still felt behind because my life looked so different from everyone else’s around me.
I compared my Chapter 1 of business to everyone else’s Chapter 20. And when you’re constantly looking sideways, it’s impossible to move forward.
It wasn’t until therapy (and some serious self-work) that I realized: Confidence isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you build, one aligned action at a time, and when it comes to building a business, you’re playing the long game.
The moment I stopped chasing validation and started building from intention, everything changed. Those ideas I thought were “failures” were actually future projects — stepping stones to the bigger picture I was meant to create.
The Confidence Myth in Business
Whether you’re in real estate or an independent contractor in a different field, you’ve probably seen this play out everywhere: Agents equate confidence with success.
They think driving the newest car or flexing the highest sales numbers means they’ve “made it.”
But what they don’t post are the late nights, the burnout, or the financial stress behind those numbers.
The truth? You can look confident and still be crumbling behind the scenes.
Confidence isn’t the loudest person in the room — it’s the one who can stand tall when the noise gets loud. It’s not about impressing everyone; it’s about connecting with the right ones.
Because the moment you stop chasing everyone is the moment you start attracting your people.
Build Confidence is a Brand Skill
Confidence isn’t an attitude; it’s a set of learned skills. And I teach it using my signature three-part framework:
🥂 1. Uncork the Story
Every great brand starts with a story. Confidence begins when you stop hiding behind the generic “I help people buy and sell homes” and start telling people why you do it.
When your story is clear, your content becomes magnetic.
🍸 2. Chat Up the Bar
Once your story’s uncorked, it’s time to share it. Confidence grows with every post, video, and conversation where you show up as you.
You don’t have to be the loudest; you just have to be consistent. The thought leaders who dominate their markets aren’t always the most extroverted — they’re the ones who show up even when they don’t feel ready and aren’t afraid to ask questions.
💳 3. Pay the Tab
Confidence becomes real when your actions back your story. This is where alignment meets accountability.
If you say you’re “the go-to agent for modern luxury homes,” but your Instagram looks like everyone else’s, there’s a gap between your story and your strategy.
Confidence in business means closing that gap — delivering on what you’ve promised through your content, service, and follow-up.
The Proof: Sabrina’s Story
My client Sabrina is a perfect example. We worked together from 2017 until 2023. When we started working together, she was working as a newer agent in a small town, but she had lots of potential.
She already knew what it took to run a small business as an agent because she had already ran a successful health and wellness
After implementing our digital marketing strategy, together we were able to take her from a top agent in her office to a top 100 agent in the state of Texas in 18 months.
How did we do it?
We built her confidence and authority through strategy:
- We turned her website into a local resource.
- We positioned her as a community voice by sponsoring local events.
- We built visibility systems so she was known before she even walked into the room.
Sabrina didn’t fake confidence or credibility — she built it one brick at a time. And once she did, her business exploded.
The Takeaway
Confidence isn’t a personality trait. It’s the skill that holds every other skill together.
You don’t get confident before showing up. You gain confidence in your business because you keep showing up, even when it’s hard — consistently, intentionally, and unapologetically.
You don’t need to change who you are to stand out. You just need to refine what you already have and learn how to tell your story and sell your knowledge and skills like the CEO of your brand.
